Kos Divine Hotel and Suites

We enjoyed the generous, tasty breakfast, and the location was very convenient, with a market downstairs and a pharmacy right beside the hotel. We only stayed one night, though, and both our sheets and towels had noticeable stains. The replacements weren't much better. Mr. Ioannis, the hotel manager, was very helpful about it and explained openly that they had just ended their contract with the outside laundry company and would be using their own machines from then on.

The location worked really well for us. This was our fourth visit to Kos Town, and there are lots of good bars and restaurants right outside, with town about a 15-minute walk away. The hotel itself is bright, modern, and spotless, and our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. Staff were pleasant and friendly. We paid extra for the VIP package, which gave us daytime access to the rooftop bar, a lovely place to sunbathe and enjoy the view. Breakfast was adequate, with enough variety for most people. We were three, and the bed provided for our 16-year-old daughter was basically a small camping bed. It was pretty shocking. We complained after the second night, and housekeeping replaced it, but the new one was only a little bigger and squeaked whenever she moved. Since we were there for just six nights, we put up with it. For a longer stay, we'd have complained again. We liked relaxing on the roof terrace, but the complimentary drinks were disappointing. The spirit mixers were flat, and the cocktails weren't very nice. Bottled water cost extra, so tap water was the only water included. The beer and fizzy wine were nice, though, so I'd avoid the flat cola and other soft drinks. Bar snacks were okay, but one day everything had ham. I don't eat meat, and there was nothing else available when I asked. They're really just nibbles, so we also ordered from the restaurant bar menu, which was very tasty. The extra £400 for VIP didn't feel worth it, which was a shame. Snacks were set out for our arrival, but flight delays meant we missed the free bar included in the package. We got in after 1 a.m. and just wanted bed. The delay wasn't the hotel's fault, but it would've been nice if they had taken it into account and extended the free bar to the next day. Even with these problems, we had an amazing family holiday. I'm just not sure we'd return to the Divine.

We had a very comfortable, spacious suite at Kos Divine, and it was clean and exactly what we needed to unwind. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh ingredients and a nice range of options. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout. It's also a great base for walks, with key attractions easy to reach.

The food was a real highlight. Every meal was fresh, full of flavor, and nicely presented. We love Greek food, and the restaurant's authentic cooking and attention to detail impressed us. We stayed seven nights with family. The beach was right outside, and the old town was under a 15-minute walk away. The lobby and shared spaces were clean and nicely decorated, but our room's cleanliness fell short. The bathroom wasn't swept once. Cleanliness is basic, and I hope they improve it. Most mornings, noise from the cleaners woke us, and there was almost no soundproofing. Staff were friendly, and some really went out of their way, but service was slow on many evenings. They seemed stretched between the hotel restaurant and its beachfront restaurant. Reception staff were disengaged and barely spoke with us, so check-in and checkout felt silent, with no warm welcome or useful suggestions. With better attention to detail, this could rate higher. It was an okay stay, neither great nor awful.
