Lambi Resort

We spent a week here at the start of June. It’s far from the city center, and with temperatures around 32-34°C every day, we mostly stayed in to sunbathe and swim. There were always free sunbeds. You’ll need a car to explore, though it’s a small island and there aren’t that many places to see. The food options were limited. Seafood lovers probably won’t be happy here. There were fries and pasta every day, and most desserts were cream-based. Some dishes were delicious, others less so. The dining area had soft drinks, water, beer, coffee and wine at every meal. There were nine free cocktails, but they all seemed to use the same alcohol, possibly anise-flavored, and had a similar taste. Live music played a few times a week from 9 to 11 PM. Our room had two extra beds, effective air conditioning and a fridge that worked well. The surroundings were peaceful, housekeeping came daily and did a good job, and we appreciated the small food and water package for guests leaving at night. The hotel is close to the beach, with beautiful sunsets. A few things could be better: there were no Do Not Disturb signs, no napkins at breakfast or lunch, and the cocktails all had the same aftertaste. The bedding was very thin, more like a sheet than a duvet. The toaster was painfully slow, and although there was a kettle and mugs in the room, no tea or coffee was provided. There are no elevators. A ground-floor room may work for someone using a wheelchair, but overall the hotel isn’t very wheelchair-friendly.

Being close to Kos town worked really well for us, especially since we love getting around Kos by bike. We also caught a lovely sunset during our stay. The resort felt peaceful and laid-back, which suited us much better than a big hotel with loud entertainment. Everyone we met, at reception, the bars and the restaurant, was so friendly. We had a happy stay.

As someone who works in gastronomy, I came away especially impressed by the kitchen at Lambia Resort. The dishes were served fresh and at the right temperature even during the busy holiday period, and the quality stayed consistent. The kitchen team worked with clear energy and efficiency, which reflects well on the Executive Chef’s leadership. Greek ingredients and cooking were given plenty of room, from seafood and herbs to olive oil and fresh baking. There was also enough variety for international guests, without a drop in quality. The food was flavorful and thoughtfully presented, and the organization behind it stood out to me as much as the cooking itself. My stay was relaxing, but it was also professionally inspiring. After many years managing hotel kitchens, I have a lot of respect for standards like these, especially under pressure. Congratulations and thanks to the Executive Chef and the whole culinary team. I've stayed at Lambi resort twice, and I'm already looking forward to another visit. It's peaceful, with easy access to Kos Town. The rooms have plenty of space and are cleaned every day, and there's a good range of food. Most of all, the staff are lovely, always smiling and greeting everyone. I really can't think of anything to complain about.
