Pension Balos

I’ve been coming here for years and still love it. Today’s meal was a chicken-stuffed eggplant roll, pancakes filled with minced meat, and spaghetti, all absolutely delicious. The food, friendly hosts, and atmosphere are just as good as people say.

The beach is calm and peaceful, even if there are prettier places to swim. For €10, we got two loungers with an umbrella, plus two frappés and two small bottles of water, which felt like a fair price. BALOS - RESTAURANT CAFÉ ROOMS is tucked away at the far end of the beach. It’s a warm, welcoming family-run place, set back from the water so it’s nicely sheltered from the wind. Umbrellas and sunshades give you cover from the sun, and the Greek coffee served in a pot was excellent.

We spent a lovely evening listening to the sea, with a beautiful view and such warm hospitality. The food was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. You can go into the kitchen while the parents cook and pick your meal. It feels authentic, both the atmosphere and the cuisine. Highly recommended.

This is such a rare find! The place is quiet, right at the end of a dead-end road, with the beach just outside and a well-equipped apartment. It’s ideal if you want to properly relax, without any fuss, and enjoy the Greek hospitality. Daphne and her family serve fresh produce from their own garden, and you can choose your meal in the kitchen. There’s a warm, family-like atmosphere if you want to join in. Their Nescafé Frappee is the best on the island, and you should ask about the homemade lemonade. Breakfast or a long dinner, it’s always worth a visit. 🤩🥰
