Kounoupidiana is lovely in its own right, so we didn’t feel we had to go to Chania every night. The old Venetian harbour is only a 10-minute cab ride away. My wife and I had a spectacular honeymoon here. The hotel was great, the staff helpful, and the swimming pool excellent. We sometimes asked the hotel attendant to call a taxi, which may be easier than calling a dispatcher yourself. There’s also a coin-operated laundry machine, which came in handy. The place seemed very safe, and we had no issues. We went in September, when the daytime weather stayed between 26C and 30C. I’d say it’s an ideal time to visit, and the rooms have air conditioning. My only small complaint is that they don’t use down pillows or bedding, though it didn’t bother us. I’d absolutely recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Crete/Chania.

The property is scenic, but the staff were rude. Rather than politely asking guests to turn down the music by the pool, one staff member went ballistic at several people. The same person also bizarrely accused a feral cat of being a guest’s pet and said it shouldn’t be on the property. Just weird.

We had a relaxing, comfortable stay, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It was always clean, and we were allowed to pet the stray cats. There’s enough parking underneath, though you may need to be on the balcony to get wifi. It’s close to plenty of restaurants and bakeries. Truly the best stay of our lives.

I’ve stayed at Sissy Village for four years now, and each visit has been longer than the last. The rooms are a great size, everything is so clean, and the location is wonderful. The staff are amazing and always ready to help. We’ve had a couple of medical issues on holiday, and their support was incredible. I love this place and its staff, and highly recommend it. Can’t wait to go back.
