The food was such a highlight, with loads of choice at every meal. We especially liked the Greek and Cretan themed evenings. The salads were delicious, and there was plenty for pickier eaters too, including our fussy one-year-old. At breakfast, the Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and honey was incredible, and the omelettes were excellent. Our stay in Pool Room 403 was fantastic. Having a private terrace, sun loungers and a pool made it feel special. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of wardrobe space, and Sophia kept the room spotless each day. The hotel has quirky décor and lots of character, with beautiful flowers all around the well-maintained grounds. Our daughter loved pointing them out as we walked around. Everyone was welcoming. The lady at the spa always greeted us warmly, and the restaurant staff were attentive, professional and friendly. We enjoyed the live music at the bar, and the barman, who had a 25 day old son, was lovely and attentive. The setting is beautiful, with coastal views that made it a relaxing place to spend the evening. Thanasis, the concierge, was the first person we met at Esperides. We think he’d only started about a month before our visit, but he made us feel welcome right away and was always kind, cheerful and lovely. When a wasp nest started forming near our sun lounger, Juliet and a maintenance team member whose name we didn’t catch dealt with it immediately and made sure it was safe. They also noticed our broken clothesline before we mentioned it and fixed it promptly. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The restaurant manager always took the time to greet us, and the whole restaurant team were wonderful. Thanks to Armando, Adonis, Nikos, Ivana, Maria and Serdan for helping make our stay so memorable. This was without a doubt the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in, and we were genuinely sad to leave. Thank you to everyone at Esperides for a fantastic holiday. We made wonderful memories and can’t wait to return.

We ended up extending our stay twice because we didn’t want to leave. The staff were amazing across the board, the bartenders were excellent, the food was great, and the pool and DJ were top tier. Our two-bedroom suite with jacuzzi was clean and spacious, the jacuzzi was hot, and we felt right at home from the moment we walked in. Esperides Resort Crete really saved our trip. We’d booked another hotel for three days, listed as five stars on Booking, but Google showed a 3.7 rating. After one look, we cut our losses and left the next morning. Coming here was night and day. We’ll be back soon. Highly recommend.

The room was beautiful and comfortable, with a jacuzzi on the terrace and a sea view. We had a wonderful time at this resort hotel. The pool area, waiters, buffet restaurant and main bar were all great, and everyone on staff was very nice to us.

We had a nice room, 423, with two small balconies and air conditioning in both the bedroom and living area. The whole resort was kept clean and tidy, and the staff were really friendly. There are two pools, one for adults and one for families. In October there were plenty of sunbeds, though I imagine they could be limited in peak season. The buffet food was really nice, with a different theme each night. There are also plenty of places to eat out if you want a change from buffet lunch or dinner. The beach is a 15-minute walk away, but it’s probably 25 minutes on the way back because of the hill. Lovely place, would come back.

The hotel is in a lovely village, and the staff were very friendly, especially the staff from the Philippines. But this definitely isn’t a five-star hotel. The bathroom is very small, and the jacuzzi has no privacy, so other guests can see you. We booked a room with a sea view, but the view is of the restaurant, with only a glimpse of the sea behind it. The room details on Booking didn’t match what we got either, as there was no separate bedroom. There was also an incident in the restaurant. A man sitting near us had a very long, loud phone call, and we couldn’t carry on our conversation. When we asked a senior staff member whether calls that loud were normal there, they said yes, because he was the owner. We left a review on Booking and received an apology and an offer of a complimentary three-day stay, along with a request to change our review.
