Villa Diktynna

Villa Diktynna is easily the prettiest place I've stayed, tucked into the idyllic little village of Koutouloufari. The grounds are full of bougainvillea, plants and fruit trees, and we had a pool-view maisonette with everything we needed for self-catering. I heard some rooms have amazing sea views as well. The pool is tiny but well cared for, and to me it works better for adults than children: there's not much room to swim, though it's perfect for cooling down. The staff are all kind, and the barman has a good sense of humour. He makes a special raki cocktail I'd recommend and looks after a stray cat and kitten that turn up each night, which is very sweet. There were lots of returning guests, and I can see why.

We had a really relaxing time, especially hanging out by the pool. The pool bar service was great, thanks Vangelis, and the hotel is handy for “the villages.” The rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Lovely people and good facilities all round.

We had a really fun 10-day holiday, and Villa Diktynna helped make it that way. Vangelis was brilliant, and I loved his humour. The rooms, service and location were all perfect. There are beautiful restaurants just a short stroll away, and we rented a convertible from the rental place next door, which made it easy to get around and visit places of interest. We met some great people too.

Owner Anna is a gem and went out of her way to help with anything we needed. The bar, run by Vangelis, stays open past midnight. Our pool-view room had gorgeous pink bougainvillea all around, and in hot weather the air con is worth paying a little extra for. The pool area is small and can get busy, so be ready to grab a sunbed early. It's under a five-minute walk to the village, with over 40 restaurants within 1.5 km. A friendly cleaning team brought fresh towels daily and changed the bins and mopped the floor. Definitely recommend, great value for money, and we'll be back.
