Hotel Pighi

Sakis, his family, and the rest of the team looked after us superbly throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, and despite being near the main road, it was relatively quiet. There’s parking across from the Pighi Hotel, with buses running up and down the peninsula all day. A free minibus also takes you down to the beach. It’s a great base for exploring the peninsula.

The location works well, and there’s free WiFi fi, a safe deposit box, and a shuttle to the beach. You’ll want the shuttle for the return, since it’s a 30-minute climb up a steep hill. The pool sunbeds stay in the shade until around 2 because of the eyesore of a derelict building next door. Also, the room isn’t set up for self-catering: it has a kettle and fridge, but no cutlery or food preparation area.

There’s plenty of free parking on the main road, and the bus stops are only a few minutes away. For food nearby, Casablanca is the closest eatery, with pizza, burgers, sweets, cocktails, and takeaway coffee. Kalithea is about 4 km away for evenings out, while shops and bus routes to the busy resorts are close by. The hotel sits well back from the main street, so it stays peaceful and feels safe for children and families. It’s also a good spot for friends meeting up. The couple gave us a warm welcome, and their multilingual children were extremely helpful. Our balcony room was spotlessly clean. There’s a nice pool with sunloungers, a pretty sitting area to relax in, a breakfast room, and a working bar for coffee and drinks. If you want a quiet hotel in the center of the village with everything close at hand, this is a great fit.

It’s a small hotel in the center of Kryopigi, with only 30 rooms. Sitting by the pool chatting with the manager and his father in law made us feel right at home.
