Medusa Hotel

The staff are fantastic and clearly enjoy their work. The village of Kriophigi is pleasant, with plenty of decent places to eat. Hotel Medusa is a typical family-run Greek hotel, so you know roughly what to expect: basic but functional. Our family room was simple but adequate. Air conditioning costs extra, and there are no safety deposit boxes in the rooms. The downside is getting to the beach, about 1 km away down a very steep hill. Going there is easy enough, but walking back up in the heat is hard work. I'd return, though next time I might hire a scooter.

The family made us feel welcome and were always helpful with arranging trips or suggesting places to visit. The hotel was clean and well looked after, and Yannis is amazing. There wasn't much entertainment, just one karaoke night in our seven nights. We booked a self-catering apartment, but cooking was difficult: two electric camping-style hobs that switched off as soon as they warmed up, plus only one saucepan and a small frying pan. We mostly ate out, though it would be fine for making sandwiches. Would I come back? Yes, because the family are so caring and keen to make you happy.

The people at Medusa are the real legends: laid-back, genuine and helpful, and about as friendly a bunch as you'll find. Unlike the mythological Medusa, there's nothing bad to say about this place. I simply can't fault Medusa Hotel Kriopigi. Absolutely epic, true legends do exist ❤️ 🇬🇷

There are lots of restaurants and bars just a two-minute walk up the hill, and I'd definitely stay here again. The room was clean, with a balcony facing the pool. The hotel has a bar and pool, and the whole family were welcoming and friendly. Everyone working there went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable.
