Palladium Hotel

We’re a traveling family, with more than 130 M views on social media. We’re spending 15 days in Greece. There are lots of stairs, which are hard with baby strollers, and no elevator between floors. The hotel doesn’t deserve its stars, in my opinion. We booked dinner, but drinks weren’t included, not even water. You have to pay, which hasn’t been the case at other hotels. Breakfast and dinner were very simple with few choices, and it was hard to find food for the kids. They don’t always refill a finished item with the same food. For example, when the honey cake ran out, they replaced it with something else, so you never know what will be available. There was fresh bread at breakfast and dinner. The rooms aren’t cleaned. They only change towels if needed, not the beds, balcony, or even floor. The cleaning women were always angry, I don’t know why, and spoke in Greek. One leftover breakfast item was left outside the room for the next day, and nobody cleaned it up or took it away. The kids’ club is simple, outdoors, and far from the lobby and pool, so you can’t send the kids there and still keep an eye on them. We asked about all inclusive and were told capacity was full, but that if we paid for lunch we could join for lunch only. How does that make sense? Was there capacity for lunch but not drinks? The food by the pool wasn’t worth it, and they don’t put out much. The nuggets and other pool food are paid. The hotel doesn’t have its own beach. There’s a shared beach with another hotel, and you have to drive there, pay for parking on the other side, and pay for a beach subbed. So bad!

Getting to the beach was the main drawback. The hotel is in quiet surroundings, with a pine forest above it, which is a big plus, but reaching the beach can be a serious challenge. We drove each time, so even a quick swim meant packing and getting everything ready for the kids. The pool is very nice, though. The hotel itself was almost perfect. It isn’t luxurious, but it was very clean, with friendly, polite staff. Our comfortable room had a small fridge. Towels and bed sheets were changed every two days. We chose half board, and both breakfast and dinner were well prepared with more than enough choice. You definitely won’t go hungry. We had a great time and I’d recommend it, as long as you take the location into account when deciding.

We really enjoyed a week here. The pool is huge and nice and deep, so I’d recommend the hotel if you want to relax by the pool. We paid extra for a sea view and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were very friendly, greeted us quickly, and you can tell this is a family run hotel. They work long days. I’m a fussy eater, but there was always something I could eat, and the pork chops were my favorite. Our room was a good size and nice and clean when we arrived. The location is one downside, though the staff gave us a cab number. The other is that there’s no evening entertainment. That suited me and my partner, as we played cards, 8 pool, and other games together.

The chef deserves credit for doing excellent work and being approachable. They’re clearly making the best of the food management provides. Dinner would be a much better experience if drinks like water were included.
