Set among vineyards and olive trees, near some lovely old villages, this is a well-preserved traditional villa with beautifully maintained gardens and five fully equipped rooms. The hosts are really friendly and make a great homemade breakfast. A lovely place to enjoy nature and meditate, and a genuinely authentic Crete experience.

The olive garden was magical, and the hosts were lovely. Breakfasts were amazing too. Our apartment was a little small, but it had a great historic-building feel. We’d worried about the bed, but it was just big enough for my husband, who’s 1.80m. One real hassle was getting there: the only good road is from the Heaklion side, and Google Maps can’t be trusted to guide you around the area.

We spent five days here and wished we’d booked more. It’s a cozy rural retreat, with good meals, a lovely setting, and people who look after guests with real cheer. There’s space to chat or just let the hours pass reading, painting, writing, or whatever you feel like. A lovely place to unwind and reconnect with yourself.
