Kymi Palace Hotel

We were upgraded to a mini suite when we arrived, and the hotel is in a nice location. But a wedding made our first night really difficult. The party was so loud throughout the hotel and went on until 3:00, so we couldn’t sleep. Complaining to the staff didn’t help. They refunded one night the next day, though we’d much rather have been able to sleep. I’d check ahead to see if there’s a celebration planned.

The hardworking cleaners were the best part of our stay. We’d been promised a beach right next to the hotel when we called, but there wasn’t one. Reception was generally unfriendly and bad-tempered, and the restaurant service was poor too. A woman cut herself badly on a broken glass table in the lobby right in front of me. Nobody at reception seemed to care. A friendly boy from the restaurant tried to help, but the table was left there until we pointed it out to reception several times. This place may suit people who are happy to spend their time by the pool and eat at the restaurant every day. We’d been looking forward to the beach we were promised, so for us the stay was a waste.

We spent 4-5 days here with family and friends for our daughter Anna and her husband Nicholas’s wedding reception, and didn’t hear a single complaint from the dozens in our group. The kindness and service from the whole staff went far beyond what I expected. I’ve stayed at resorts around the world, and none came close to Kymi Palace for hospitality. The waterfront setting is beautiful, and it’s a short walk to the small town of Kymi with its shops and fantastic restaurants. The hotel is nicely laid out, with a big infinity pool area that’s so inviting for a meal, a drink, or just relaxing with family and friends. It’s easy to spend your whole visit there. If you’re in the area, or planning a fairytale wedding or other event, you’d be foolish not to consider Kymi Palace. We love the people there and can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

This was my second stay at Hotel Kymi Palace, after spending three weeks there last year. I’ve just come back from nearly a month in Greece, most of it here, and to me the place feels like home. The building was put up quite recently, around the end of 2009, and has a fabulous position with amazing views. Everything you need is within easy walking distance, and the town of Kymi is about 5 km away if you need more. The rooms are bright, spacious, lovely, and very comfortable, all with sea-view balconies. The service is great, and the staff are incredibly charming and kind, always ready to meet your requests. The owners are even more so. The photos I’ve added speak for the property, and the price is very good too. I’d give it a strong 9 out of 10.
