Alkyonis Hotel

Breakfast was exactly the same on all three days I stayed. There’s no soundproofing, so you hear everything coming up from the lobby, including the owner's family's small child screaming all the time. The faucets and shower heads were so coated in limescale they were disgusting, and the pool was green and mouldy, with misplaced grates and green slime everywhere. Absolutely gross. I won't be back and wouldn't recommend it.

The pool and facilities were clean and peaceful, and the hotel is far from the loud part of Laganas. It’s about five minutes from the beach, with shops nearby and car hire next door. We first found the place on booking.com, then booked the studio apartment directly through the website. Arranging it on WhatsApp beforehand was easy and clear. The family-run staff were respectful and always around, the room was cleaned daily, and breakfast was good. Big thanks to Sakis and Katerina. I'd happily recommend it.

For the price, this is a very good hotel. Our room was spacious and clean, though the bathroom shower was a bit worn. The staff were really friendly and it seemed like a family business. Laganas is noisy, and some teenagers in nearby rooms made it loud during our stay. Sound insulation was almost nonexistent in our building. Still a good stay, but light sleepers should bring earplugs.

The car and scooter rental in the same building next door was very handy. The staff there were friendly and focused on customers, and the prices were reasonable for getting around the island. Our room was clean and tidy, and receptionist Dionysis was warm and helpful, spoke excellent English, and was always ready to answer questions. The hotel is well placed in Laganas, on a lovely street that runs down to the sea. The beach and lively main street are both an easy walk away, so we could relax or explore. We had a great stay and highly recommend it.
