Aphrodite Hotel

We booked seven nights but my friend and I could only manage two days. The place was filthy and stank, and staying there was unbearable. It was extremely noisy, so sleeping was impossible. The balcony door wouldn’t lock, which felt dangerous with the low partitions that could easily be climbed over. We only found out on arrival that guests couldn’t bring in food or drinks from elsewhere and had to buy from the on-site shop. That rule wasn’t listed on Booking.com, and they fine you for bringing in outside food. The air conditioning cost extra, but after we paid, it didn’t cool the room or even work. There wasn’t any toilet paper in the WC when we arrived. The beach is about 1,5 km away. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Better to pay more and live like a human being.

The pool and bar were the only good parts, with cheap prices at the bar. Dimitris, who works there, is a legend. Our friends arrived by bus and waited five hours in the sun before they could get into the hotel. Food and drinks aren’t allowed in from outside. Cleaners took money from our table while we were at the beach, but it was returned a few hours later.

THEY STEAL MONEY! Do not book! I stayed nine days and was disappointed throughout. The staff, especially the manager and night shift, were unprofessional in many ways. They tried to fine me €50. The safe isn’t safe at all: money was stolen from mine and from my friends’ safes. There’s no wifi in any rooms, and air conditioning costs an extra €10/day. The cleaner comes only once every six days and doesn’t change the towels or bed linen. The place looks nothing like the pictures, and it’s nasty, with bugs and everything. If you want to get robbed, be my guest.

We’ve just left, and the place was disgusting. After you pay, they demand your passport and won’t give you the key. The water smells strange, and all 11 of us got sick. Only after payment do they hand out rules saying you can’t bring your own food or drinks and must buy from their expensive mini shop. They fine you for every little thing: 50 euros for a broken plastic chair, 50 euros for noise, whatever they can find. The one good thing is the pool and the pool bar manager, sakis. The bar isn’t owned by the hotel. Please don’t go!
