Hotel Astir Palace

The cleaning ladies did a great job. Our garden-view room, though, was basically a balcony overlooking an alley with a bit of grass, and the rooms themselves were small with very old but comfortable furniture. The location right on the beach was a plus, but the water and beach there were dirty, with too many small boats and some oil spilled. We only ate breakfast, so I can't speak for the other meals. I was disappointed by it: the same food all week, little variety, and everything was cold. There were three kinds of eggs, ham, tomatoes and cucumbers, cooked mushrooms and peppers, oats and gems, and dried fruit.

The side-view room had a good look at the beach and the small islands, and room service and an all-you-can-eat buffet are included if you book full or half board. The rooms are old and, in my view, not worth the price. If you find somewhere cheaper, I'd go there instead. Just don't expect a four-star hotel.

Our own hotel was really mean and made us check out in the morning, even though our transfer wasn't leaving until nighttime. This hotel let us pay just for a lunch buffet, then spend the whole day by the pool and enjoy the food. The staff were really nice and helped us out.

We were there for a week and had a really nice stay. The furniture is a little old, but it didn't bother us. The service was great, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was good quality, with choices for different tastes, and the location was outstanding, right on the beach. It was very clean too, with towels changed daily. It definitely deserves at least a 4.2.
