Mediterranean Beach Resort

We split our week between two hotels, and I expected the last four days here to be the nicer part of the trip. I was wrong. From the balcony I could see the cheaper hotel we’d stayed at before, and wished I’d read the reviews sooner. The photos seem like they may be from when this place was new. It feels dated, and even the pool loungers were dirty. Room 106 was cold, dark and damp, with a strong sewage smell in the bathroom. The gym was no better: the rower, elliptical and bike had no power plugs, and both strength machines were broken.

A very good hotel, but there’s no evening entertainment. They do have a nice white grand piano that guests can play.

We stayed for three days, and the service was what I liked most. The receptionist was really kind and helped us a lot :)

The setting is lovely, right by the beach, with lots of excellent restaurants nearby and spa services at the hotel. But despite its official five-star rating, I’d put it at three stars at best. There was mold around the restaurant air conditioning unit, and our room didn’t even have a wardrobe. We couldn’t leave sweets or other unsealed food out for more than half an hour without ants getting into it. At check-in, we also had to pay a €15 per-night tourist tax, which felt excessive for a hotel calling itself five-star. Beach sunbeds cost €20 as well. We booked breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was all included at the buffet, but dinner drinks weren’t, not even water. The food choice at dinner was limited and didn’t change much from day to day. We arrived early in the morning with a child and couldn’t get anything to eat until 9-10 a.m. The staff told us to wait until the pool opened at 10. The restaurant was closed meanwhile, and there were no changing facilities for the pool or beach.
