White Olive Elite Laganas - All Inclusive

We had a wedding week to remember, with 55 friends and family joining us at the white olive elite hotel in Zakynthos. The team helped with luggage and meal allergies, and were friendly throughout. Our rooms and the hotel stayed clean every day, and the rooms were spacious. The buffet was varied, generally hot and fresh, and catered for family and friends with allergies and other needs. We liked being a five-minute walk from the beach and about ten minutes from town and the strip, so livelier options were close by. The pool area had good snacks and drinks. All-inclusive drinks were fine, and the premium cocktails for a little extra were amazing. The hotel felt safe, with security there at night. On our wedding day, they even left wine and a fruit platter in our room. Everyone seemed to enjoy the week. My one concern was the distance to the toilets from the pool, especially for anyone with limited mobility. There were some about a two-minute walk away for most guests. The hotel was calm, comfortable, and cozy, which suited me, though I was surprised by how little went on around the pool. The animators only came by a few times all week to ask about darts. We didn’t see aqua aerobics or other activities in or out of the pool. Someone wanting more to do might have wished for a livelier program. We did enjoy the Greek night by the pool on Saturday. I liked the modern, smaller feel of the hotel, and the touch display connecting everything. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the room was cleaned well. It was a fairly standard room, though not what I’d call five-star, and the view wasn’t much. We hardly used the balcony anyway. There was plenty to like about the food, especially dinner, which had the biggest selection. Lunch was good too, and all-inclusive was fine overall. I did miss having proper traditional Greek gyros at lunch or dinner. There was a small plate at the snack bar, but it didn’t taste authentic. At breakfast, most of the fruit was hard and sour, and I missed things like watermelon or pineapple. The pool bars had tasty alcoholic cocktails, but a mojito cost extra. Some pool bar staff seemed as if they didn’t want to be there, and often didn’t smile. I really liked the blonde woman who greeted people in the restaurant with a lovely smile, and reception staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a positive week: a beautiful hotel, good food, and great pools. Thank you for a lovely stay.

For the price, this hotel was great and we couldn’t find anything to fault. It was spotless, the food was very good, and the staff were so friendly. We’d definitely come back.

The food got repetitive and wasn’t very tasty, and the cocktails were watered down. You had to pay extra for the good ones, even though this was meant to be all-inclusive. Housekeeping was poor too, with the staff not replacing soap or toilet paper, and there was a lot of hallway noise in the morning. That’s why I’m giving it three stars, the same rating I’d give the hotel.
