Two years ago I booked and paid for one night at this hotel. Then the Daniel storm hit the area and the roads were closed because of the destruction. I contacted the hotel, probably through the booking management company, and was told I wouldn’t get a refund. They did assure me I could use the booking later. This year I called to use that stay and offered to pay for a second night, since we were going to a wedding nearby and needed two nights. The management company sent me to the property owner, Ms. Katerina. That conversation was the most disappointing experience I’ve had with a “professional.” She kept saying she was doing me a favor and spoke in a discouraging tone throughout. She booked a different date from the one we’d agreed on. When I called to correct it, she said “take it or leave it” and hung up. She hasn’t answered any of my calls since. I can’t say whether the accommodation is clean or dirty, beautiful or ugly. I sincerely hope nobody else is treated this way. I don’t know how other guests’ experiences with her have been, but in my case, I needed basic professionalism and patience to communicate, and got the exact opposite.

We paid quite a lot for the mezzanine space, but couldn't use it at all. It was too hot upstairs, with no air conditioning, and the stairs were so steep that going down to the bathroom at night felt dangerous. I was also worried someone could hit their head on the sharp metal edges just above the bed. The poor sound insulation meant a crying baby kept me awake for two nights, and the nearby beaches were overcrowded and awful. I booked for two weeks but left after six nights. Looking closely at the reviews, the positive ones seem to come from people who stayed only two or three nights.

The room was in a new building, nicely decorated, and very clean. Even on a scorching day of around 39 degrees, the air conditioning kept it cool. They'd left bottles of water in the fridge, parking around the building was easy, and the kind, helpful staff let us check in a few hours early. The price was low and we booked through Booking. Cafes and restaurants are close by. We did notice some dampness, though, and it was noisy. Our room was on level -1, so the view wasn't nice.

The rooms were spotless and cleaned regularly, and Katerina was a wonderful host. It's a fantastic place near the sea, probably the best place to stay in Leptokarya. Our stay was unforgettable, and I hope we can come back soon.
