Villa Margarita

The room was filthy, with hair across the floor, black footprints on the walls beside the bed, and dead mosquitoes left on the walls. There was no Wi-Fi, not even enough to send an email or load a web page. The electric cooker was damaged and dangerous: once switched on, it wouldn't turn off unless we shut down the house's main power. The host never warned us not to use it. When we complained about the dirt, he was rude and basically said that was how it was, and we could go elsewhere, even though it was August 14 and everything was booked up. The Booking photos are filtered and don't reflect the place. This was my worst trip experience in years. If you value your holiday time, think very carefully before booking here. Avoid this place in Thasos.

The view is great, but the room needs much more attention when it comes to cleanliness and comfort.

The place was fairly clean, and they came daily to clean and change the bedding, though the sheets didn't necessarily smell fresh. Still, the furniture was old, worn, and broken in places, and the room had no hairdryer, dishes, or other amenities. In the photos it looked fine, and the seaside location drew us in, but our room faced the street and another accommodation very close by. I suspect only one room has a sea view, and it wasn't ours. The conditions felt like a student dorm. We knew it was the cheapest place and didn't expect much, and we're not especially demanding, but there were a few extra inconveniences.

The location was excellent, close to restaurants, markets, and everything else, and we had a nice view from our room during our five nights. The furniture was old and the beds uncomfortable, though. There was no daily cleaning, and the toilet could at least have been cleaned. The table on the balcony was dirty.
