Acropolis Apartments

Valentino's, the restaurant and takeaway across the road, was fabulous, and Mythos was another great Greek meal, about a five minute walk away. We only ate at the hotel restaurant once because the menu was limited and several dishes weren’t available. The apartments themselves were spacious and clean, with a lovely pool and a great location. The bathroom could use an update: the shower temperature kept varying and the curtain was worn. Most of the staff were great, but I think the owner was rude when we had a couple of problems. He wasn’t helpful and answered bluntly, which was a shame.

The room was really roomy, with a little equipped kitchen area, utensils and plates, a mini fridge and sink. We also loved the restaurant, where the food and drinks were amazing and the service felt so welcoming. The pool is beautiful, too, and has an outdoor shower. Everyone was very hospitable.

I was glad they let me check in as soon as I arrived at 11 a.m., and the owners were friendly. The furniture was new, and the room came with free air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a hairdryer. But the apartments feel old and badly need renovation. My courtyard-facing room looked straight at a neighbour’s balcony only a metre away. The bathroom water wouldn’t drain properly, and the room wasn’t very clean. During my three nights, towels were never changed and cleaning felt very superficial. There was no soap, shower gel or shampoo, just towels. The air conditioning worked on and off, and my key didn’t work at all, so I couldn’t get into the room.

A welcoming place with good food and friendly people. They were happy to help and tell us about the local area. I’d certainly come back soon.
