Mareva was a great first stay for us. The apartments are basic but clean, and the staff couldn’t do enough to help. Its location between the main Hersonissos strip and the village of Koutouloufari is perfect for enjoying both. Thanks so much to Areti, Yiannis and the rest of the team for such a great holiday. There are lots of guests who come back, and I can see why. Yanis and the team run a lovely family place with a pool, gardens, bar and restaurant. The apartments are simple, but have what you need: air conditioning, a bathroom, kitchen and a terrace or balcony. I'd happily recommend staying here.

We had another great holiday at Mareva. The Greek family who run it have such warm personalities, and we love Crete. It's a nice base if you want to be near Hersonisos as well as the old towns of Koutoulufari, Piskopiano and old Hersonisos.

Friendly staff, a quiet pool where you can get an umbrella, and really good breakfasts. For budget apartments, this is a great choice. It's positioned between the touristy Main Street and the much nicer spots up the hill.

The owner is so friendly and remembers his customers by name. The apartment is simple but comfortable, and the small pool wasn't crowded. You're halfway up a hill, with beaches and clubs downhill and lots of lovely Greek restaurants uphill. If you don't mind the five-minute walk up, I'd recommend it for the value.
