We stayed in room 4 over the Clean Monday three-day weekend, 21-23 Febr 2026. On Thursday, two days before our Saturday arrival, I had written to the owner to specifically request that the air conditioner be cleaned and disinfected. I had recently recovered from serious pneumonia and was taking corticosteroid inhalers. From what we found during the stay, the A/C had not been cleaned despite that request. It had poor output, so we used it continuously. On the second day, in the early hours of the morning, both my wife and I developed upper respiratory infection symptoms. This caused me serious concern, given my recent medical history. We both still have symptoms today. I can’t say what caused them, but the timing was worrying. The room’s cleanliness and basic preparation were also poor. The dishes had visible coffee residue, the extra mattress had a strong, sour, unpleasant smell, and the shower was dirty and covered in limescale, clearly not cleaned. Basic kitchen items, including knives, and basic consumables were missing. We had experienced a similar issue during an earlier stay at the same accommodation in a different room in November 2025, with dirty glasses and plates, which we reported at the time. Finding the same problem again in another room makes it seem unlikely to have been a one-off. The room overall did not feel professionally prepared for guests. I would not have posted a public review if this had not involved a health concern and what seemed to be repeated negligence. When a guest gives advance notice of a serious medical reason and asks for a specific action, not responding cannot be treated as a minor oversight. I sincerely hope they make real improvements to cleanliness and organisation. The area is beautiful and deserves better hospitality.
