The location is amazing and the hostess was nice, so we really wanted to enjoy our stay. But we wouldn’t recommend traditional room #2 for families with small children. It may suit a young, adventurous couple better. The room has a unique feel that the kids seemed to like, and the AC was good, but it was small and dark. There was very little counter space in the kitchen, which made it hard to use. The kettle was rusty; I asked the host to replace it and got no reply, so I boiled water in a pot for morning coffees. No coffee or shampoo was supplied, just a small bar of soap. The bathroom fittings were a little rusty, the shower head didn’t work properly, and the drain was poor. One window in the dark main room had no blackout curtain, and light from outside shone in our eyes and kept us awake. We couldn’t turn it off because the neighbors were using it. They also stayed chatting right by our door until 2 am every night. There’s no insulation, so we could hear people checking in and out, as well as noise from the nearby restaurant. The place could use some TLC. We wanted to like it for its location and unusual features, but it wasn’t right for us.

We booked the entire complex for a wedding and stayed four nights, but the place was very disappointing. The host was rude when we raised the cleanliness concerns, shouting so loudly that people in nearby houses called to check whether we were okay. Our first room was dirty, though we didn’t say anything then. After moving to a second room, we found that dirty too and mentioned it. The host insisted it was spotless. The bathroom had toothpaste left by previous guests in the sink, and hair on the toilet and in the sink. The kitchen sink was dirty and rusty, and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was still food from the previous guests in the fridge, with yellow food spots all over. Despite all this, we were told the room was spotless. An awful stay, especially because of the host’s reaction.

Anastascia was a wonderful, very helpful host. The rooms were comfortable and clean, though the bathrooms need renovating.

We’d be happy to return. It’s a small, enclosed house with several apartments, a courtyard and a rooftop terrace. Anastasia is a kind older lady who’s hospitable, helpful and lovely with children, and she makes you feel at home. Her cat, Grisulis, was a real treat. Our room was quite small, but clean and perfectly adequate, and the price was absolutely right. Around the corner there’s a supermarket with fresh fruit and bread, run by a really friendly owner. We regularly got breakfast for the terrace and drinks for the evening there. In the evenings, music from several nearby bars can make the terrace a bit noisy. For us it was pleasant background while we played games and had a glass of wine, and it didn’t disturb our sleep. We had a wonderful stay.
