Chill & Co. Serifos Island

Although our room was on the first floor, so the lack of a lift didn’t affect us, keep in mind that there isn’t one. The room was small but very clean and carefully arranged, with what we needed for a short island visit. The bed was really comfortable, and Sakis at reception was friendly and great to deal with. It’s conveniently located near everything. The window could let in some noise at night, but the air conditioning worked perfectly. I’d stay here again.

My açaí smoothie and coffee were both delicious. My wife really liked her eggs and chocolate pancakes at Chill & Co. She also had a tasty Bloody Mary, though she wasn’t keen on the matcha latte. It was her first one, so I can’t say for sure that was Chill & Co’s fault.

The boiled eggs and sourdough were really good. Service can be hit or miss, though. Some of the younger staff, including Michaela, are lovely, friendly and polite.

This hotel is fine for a quick stopover on Serifos, and it’s conveniently located, close to restaurants, other amenities and just a minute from the port for the ferry. We originally booked two nights, then had to cancel one because of the ferry schedule. The hotel and staff didn’t seem willing to help find a solution or make us comfortable about it. I’m not saying they were rude, but they did make us feel awkward. Guests should at least be made to feel welcome, and in my experience traveling around the world, the service here doesn’t meet the standard. The staff came across as unprofessional, and the shower head in our room didn’t work, even though we know how it’s supposed to work. We’ve stayed in several places on nearby islands, and this hotel needs to improve its service. Online, the hotel and restaurant are presented together, but when we asked whether they had the same owner, we were told they are run by two different companies. The restaurant tables also seem to merge with the hotel reception area, which is confusing.
