Coralli Bungalows & Camping

We had a wonderful stay at Coralli Camping in mid-September, when things were calm and relaxed. The shady olive trees around the camping area helped make the nighttime heat bearable, and the lovely beach, with olive trees too, was only 50 meters away. The staff were friendly, and the free shuttle to and from the ferries was a really nice touch, especially with luggage instead of a ten-minute walk to the harbour. The stay was very cheap. We cooked for ourselves, so I can’t comment on the restaurant. There were three fridges and a good cooking area, and each campsite had electricity included at no extra cost. The sanitary facilities were kept very clean. Staff told us it isn’t as quiet and relaxed in high season, so I’d suggest going in mid-September.

The beach is sandy, shaded by trees, and right by the campsite, while the port is an easy walk away. We spent a week at Coralli Camping in September and had a great time. Everything was clean and orderly, and the staff, from reception and transport to breakfast, cleaning, and the bar, were professional, warm, and attentive. There were plenty of tasty, healthy choices for meals or snacks, and the restaurant and beach bar both had great music. It’s a lovely place to unwind and swim, or use as a base to see the island. Since it’s close to Athens, it can get crowded in high season, so I’d avoid that period. A mini market on site would be handy, though supermarkets are about a ten-minute walk away. We’d come back.

Waking up in a tent and having the sandy beach just 50 meters away is hard to beat. Coralli Camping is also an easy walk from the port, with shops, mini markets, and tavernas nearby. The taverna and beach bar with a pool are popular, though I’d still choose the beach. Cars aren’t allowed inside, which keeps things quieter. You can see that the people who built and run the place understand camping. There’s good shade, hot water, water taps around the site, and clean toilets and showers around the clock, even at peak times. The site is tidy, and they’ve added more tent space with shade and electricity. Little touches like an electric pump for inflatables show they’ve thought about what campers need. That care is why so many people return. I do miss the free water cooler. Now you have to keep buying bottles to get cold water, which creates plastic waste that might be avoidable. Even so, it remains a much-loved campsite in a holiday destination people love.

Everything was very clean, and the place is nicely run, with excellent organization and staff. The restaurant was the one letdown. The food and service were well below standard, so I’d avoid eating there.
