Stefanos Studios

It's a great spot, literally two minutes from the beach. Two lovely cleaners come every day, and sheets and towels are changed every few days. My only suggestion would be for them to come a little later, around midday or after.

We hadn't tried self-catering before and weren't sure what to expect, but the rooms were clean and spacious. There's a shop and bakery about five minutes away, and the beach takes less than five minutes to reach and is pretty good. We had an issue when we arrived, and the owner sorted it out quickly. She's absolutely fantastic. We'd definitely stay again.

The studio's location was really good, and studio no. 1 had a lovely sea view, though some of the other studios apparently didn't. It was basic but very clean, with a minimal kitchen that was fine for breakfast. WiFi was unreliable. There's no reception and we never saw a representative. We only found the owners' hotel after a steep 30-minute walk, and even after going there twice we couldn't get an answer about late check-out. The lack of communication was disappointing. It also wouldn't be ideal for anyone with accessibility issues.

The location is great for exploring the whole island, and the beach is glorious. For the money, this is good budget accommodation, but I seem to have been unlucky with my studio. It smelled of smoke and dirty socks, and the blanket, mattress protector, and mattress had dried urine stains. The mattress felt ancient, maybe from 1995 or something. There was no reception or contact person, and the phone number went to voicemail. I slept on a spare mattress laid over the dirty one, wrapped in towels. The owner really needs to spend some money on newer mattresses. Also, no pool, that's the OTHER stefanos studios.
