Koni Village Hotel

When my nephew was rushed to hospital, I asked to cancel just three hours after the free cancellation deadline. I explained what had happened straight away and offered to send the medical documents proving his hospitalization. The phone call was a mess. No one spoke English, and I couldn't get a clear answer or any help. I felt like I was talking to a wall through several exchanges. Eventually I reached a manager, who told me, “For tax reasons, a refund is no longer possible.” Even with a serious family emergency and medical records available, they chose to keep the money instead of showing some human decency. I've never dealt with an establishment that felt so cold, slow, and incompetent. There was no compassion or flexibility, and they handled the situation terribly. This is not customer service, it's theft disguised as an absurd policy. If something goes wrong or there's an emergency, don't count on them. As long as everything is fine, they take your money, but when there's a human concern, nobody is there. A hotel to avoid at all costs.

The food was amazing, and everything about the place felt perfect and peaceful. I spent five days there, and they were the best five days of my life. Thanks so much to everyone for making my vacation so special. I love Greece because of you guys, and I'll definitely be back ❤️🙏🏽

The location was handy, about 15 minutes from the center of Malia for a walk or a look around. There are two pools, and we did get in for a swim, even though the water was pretty cold 😂🙈. We also caught one show, which was fun, though I wish we'd managed to see more. The rooms were comfortable, tidy, and well maintained. We really enjoyed the food and the good range of dishes, and the cocktails were lovely too. My husband likes alcoholic drinks, while I don't, but they made me some really good non-alcoholic cocktails. The bartenders were especially sweet, and many of the staff were kind and pleasant. We brought some Lithuanian treats as a gift and hope you liked them. There was an uncomfortable moment in the restaurant. My husband couldn't finish the rice porridge because it was too sweet for him. Next time, please wait until guests have left before reacting, pointing, or laughing, women, I don't know your name. We paid for the food, and everyone likes different things. It felt disrespectful. The hill was another downside. We walked a lot, and climbing back up was tiring each time. Our room was right at the top, which made it harder. I'd rate the hotel four stars, but that's with a bit of a stretch. We still enjoyed the stay more than not, and wish you continued success 🌷

The room was big, and the setting was lovely, though the hotel is on a steep hillside. We hadn't expected much after reading reviews just before the trip, but the food pleasantly surprised us. It was a clean hotel.
