The room came with about 40 deflated balloons for some reason, which set the tone. One morning I woke up to a brush sweeping past my head. When I opened an eye, the cleaner was less than a foot from my face, waving a broom and talking away in Spanish, which I couldn’t understand. The bathroom was awful, with a cold shower and a broken toilet seat. My bed was broken, and the curtain kept falling down whenever there was a gust of wind. It ended up on my face multiple times. The air con didn’t work either. The hotel seemed to be run by a brigade of untrained, foreign child labour camps. Other than that, the hotel was amazing, probably the best I’ve ever stayed in.

You’re right in the middle of the nightlife, so it’s handy for going out and meeting people. The tradeoff is noise until around 4-5 a.m. when the clubs and bars close, so it’s not a good fit if you want an early night.

The kitchenette had a rotten stove tucked in a drawer, and the bathroom ceiling was covered in mold. There was no shower curtain, either. The room also had cockroaches and ants, an ancient refrigerator, and no TV. Air conditioning cost an extra 6 euros a day. With disco noise keeping you awake until five in the morning, these felt like one-and-a-half-star conditions, nowhere near three stars. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Choose somewhere else.
