George and his family looked after us so warmly that by the end of the stay they felt like lifelong friends. They gave us good tips for dinner and beaches, and helped us when my wife became ill. They really care about their guests. Best host I’ve had in all my travels.

We spent a full week here and found the apartments clean, tidy, and good value. We had two joined units for two and three people, each with a kitchenette, balcony, and bathroom. The staff, including owner George and the cleaner, were very helpful and friendly. The apartments were cleaned every two days, and even the dishes had been done when we got back. The pool was well kept, though a little cold in October; there was plenty of daytime sun to warm up afterwards. There are two supermarkets and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Kampos suits anyone looking for a quieter part of Samos, but getting to the island’s more interesting sights means driving. The distances aren’t huge, but the roads make trips slow: Tsamadou beach was 36 km and 52 minutes away, and Pythagoreio was 35 km and 55 minutes. The nearby beach isn’t as nice as some others on Samos, so you’ll need a car for the really good ones. Also, like many toilets on the island, ours didn’t flush paper well, and we had a few blockages. I don’t find that very hygienic.

Kampos is a lovely choice if you want a quiet, peaceful break, and Albatross is a clean, calm, and safe place to stay. The rooms are spacious enough and furnished well, everything looked very clean, and the pool was kept clean too. The owner George and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. The beach is very close and quiet, with tavernas nearby serving really tasty food.
