Infinity White Complex by GK Hospitality Group

I booked this place to spend a private afternoon by the pool with friends, but that didn't happen. I had contacted the owner beforehand to ask whether booking both the sea view and garden view apartments would mean we'd have privacy, and was assured we'd be alone. On arrival, I found a family staying in the apartments in front of the pool, which undermined the privacy I'd been promised and affected our weekend. The apartments we were given were at the back of the building, rather than the ones shown in the online photos. The photos didn't represent the actual unit we booked. I wouldn't recommend this accommodation because I found its online presentation misleading.

The owners brought breakfast every morning, sometimes homemade, which made our stay feel extra cosy. The apartment had good air-conditioning, so we could set the temperature as we liked. It was a very good experience overall, though we had to keep following our toddler around because the light switches were so low that he could turn them on. There were large rooms: one with a big double bed, and another with space for two single beds or, as in our case, one bed and a baby cot. The shower was big, there was good space for towels, and everything was clean and used. The location was quiet and secluded.

It's a good-value, spacious two-bedroom apartment in a quiet spot off the beaten track, and it's very close to the beach. There are a couple of awkward bits: the stairs are narrow and long, and the bathroom feels strangely arranged and cramped for an apartment this size. Still, generally OK.

Porto Rafti gave me a lovely last memory of Greece. I enjoyed the beach and local restaurant, even though the area felt more geared to locals. I was traveling alone and the place had two rooms and three beds, which made me miss my friends a little. They provided airport rides, which was really convenient, and breakfast was free. I’d come from Athens and Santorini to spend one night here before flying back to Canada, and it worked out perfectly.
