The family made us feel so welcome throughout our 10 days in mid-September 2025. When we mentioned we couldn't find pomegranate jam in the shops, Clarey surprised us at departure with two jars she'd made herself, especially for us and with love. Every evening meal was delicious, all homemade, and we looked forward to them each day. A really friendly, family-run hotel, and nothing was too much trouble.

We were sorry to leave after such a lovely week at The Bouradanis Hotel. The whole family were warm and kind from our arrival right through to goodbye, and we'd happily return. The room, towels and bedding were clean, as were all the shared areas. Mama Clairey takes real care with her cooking. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including her homemade marmalades and preserves. Dinner was just as generous, with salads, rice and couscous alongside the main dishes. Much of the food is locally sourced, and even the vinegars are homemade. Everything tasted delicious.

There’s a lovely sandy beach about a ten-minute walk away, and you can see the salt lake from most of the apartments. Around the hotel it feels peaceful, with no tall buildings crowding the view, little traffic noise, and no random visitors taking over the pool. It’s adults only, so there’s plenty of time to relax, and we often had the pool to ourselves. The scenery is beautiful in every direction. The location between Marmari and Tigaki might feel a bit isolated, though getting around is manageable with a hired car or bike. The bus stop is around ten minutes away, with services to Kos throughout the day. We first stayed at Bouradanis in 2025 and loved it enough to come back this year with a bigger group. The family clearly care about what they do. Breakfast is buffet style, with homemade preserves, bread, meat, cheese, cereals, and unlimited juice, tea and coffee. Dinner was a highlight: there’s a big salad spread followed by three courses of Greek home cooking from Clarey, who does her best to accommodate requests. The meals were never repeated, apart from Vasillis’s Sunday BBQ, and there was always plenty to eat. When we arrived in the early hours and missed dinner, Dimitris, the eldest son, gave us sandwiches, a mini Greek salad and a bottle of water. You don’t have to compete for a table or sunbed. The family are renovating this October, and I’m already looking forward to going back next year. Some guests have been coming for 12 years, which says a lot. It’s a special place if you want to get away from it all.

The breakfasts and dinners were the best part, and the price is hard to beat. The pool is lovely and quiet, and the facilities are well kept. It’s in the north of Kos, with easy access from the island’s main road. If you visit in summer, be aware that air conditioning in the room costs extra.

A really peaceful spot, with food that tastes like it’s made with love. The family are welcoming and lovely. If you’re after a proper escape without noisy nightlife, this is a great place. I’d love to keep it to myself, but I can’t gatekeep!
