Camping Gythion Bay

Our car broke down, so we stayed at Gythion Bay Camping while it was at a nearby Garage, Mani Car Service, who were incredibly helpful. The room wasn’t the coziest, but it was clean, well equipped, and had everything you need. It was also available at short notice for free. We spent our time around the very nice campsite anyway, with a beautiful beach just outside. The team helped us a lot in a difficult situation, from translating to being flexible about how long we stayed. The restaurant staff were clear and accommodating when we asked about ingredients, and offered to swap items to make a meal vegan. Huge thanks to the whole Gythion Bay Camping team!

The pool and beach were great, though the restaurant was closed during our visit. The campsite is large, with big pitches, and all the amenities were clean and included in the accommodation price. You don’t need coins to use the showers.

The spacious camper pitches have plenty of shade from the surrounding trees, and the campsite is very well organized. The bathrooms and other shared areas were spotless, and the pool and restaurant were pleasant too. We stayed two nights, but it felt more like a holiday village than a traditional campsite, and clearly catered to families with children. Kids rode bikes and scooters around throughout the day, which wasn’t always relaxing, and the afternoon games and music won’t suit everyone. Prices at the bar and restaurant were on the high side, as you might expect in a touristy place. It’s a good stay if you’re okay with those compromises, but I wouldn’t come back.

The kids loved having so much to explore and play with, and the safe, well-organized campsite gave them a real sense of freedom and independence. We spent three nights at Gythion Bay Camping, from June 6-9, 2025, in our tent with our two children, and it was better than we expected. The toilets and showers were spotless throughout the day, and the pitches were spacious with natural shade under olive trees. The campsite is right by a sandy beach with beach volleyball, and there’s also a pool and playground. Staff were polite and helpful, and the mini market had the essentials, including fresh bread every morning. The restaurant served tasty food, though service was very slow at busy times, something to keep in mind with hungry little ones. We highly recommend it for families wanting a tidy campsite with nature, comfort, and activities for kids. A tip: go to the restaurant a little before or after usual meal times to avoid waiting. I believe takeaway is available too.
