Leto Hotel

The owner’s knowledge of local history gave our visit extra depth, and their availability made us feel welcome. My wife and I loved the hotel’s central location and all the paintings and curious objects throughout its original interior. It’s clearly cared for, right down to the carefully chosen details, and the objects seem to tell stories about the city. The place felt like more than somewhere to sleep, almost a glimpse into local life and culture, offered with real warmth. We can’t wait to come back, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cultural experience as well as a hotel.

A lovely, unusual place, decorated with a zero-waste approach. The welcome feels genuine, and there’s a sense of care for the environment and for the people looking after it. Instead of the usual pressure to please customers, the shared volunteer work makes you want to contribute too. A nice example of how things could be done.

The owners’ attitude and the location were okay, but this does not feel like a two-star hotel. The bathroom was disgusting, with rusty faucets, a broken door that wouldn’t shut, and a shower that was basically a faucet on the wall. Was that really approved by a building inspector? For €35 I wasn’t expecting luxury, just the basics. Management’s excuse that it’s a hotel in the “horio” is insulting to the beautiful villages (Horia) around here. Please get your act together and provide basic services, or close the place instead of expecting people to accept something below third-world standards.

There’s a comfortable lobby and reception area where you can relax, and the location is great. The rooms are clean and cozy, with lovely decor, and the staff are friendly and come from all over. The bathroom is small, though you get used to it. Good value for the price, recommend it.
