Villa Fotaki

The location of Villa Fotaki is good and the garden is large, but the property was extremely dirty and did not feel private. The managers live in the same building. We had to clean the place ourselves to make it usable. There were also safety concerns, including exposed dangerous electrical cables and problems with drains. I’m adding my account because I believe the managers’ response to Audrone Hodges’s summer photos and comments is false. We’re a family that travels every year and always pays our bills. The managers became angry and aggressive when we pointed out how dirty Villa Fotaki was and asked them to clean it. The disagreement escalated when we asked for an invoice and receipt after our booking was cancelled by Villa Fotaki. We never refused to pay, but the managers would not provide the paperwork. We called the Police for help. The managers or owners did not call them. Instead, the managers threatened us, saying we should pay without an invoice or receipt. They brought male staff to the property and blocked the driveway so we couldn’t leave for dinner. The Police came and instructed them to provide the invoice and receipt, and we paid. It’s disgraceful that we had to involve the Police during a holiday to feel safe and get the legal paperwork for our stay. Villa Fotaki’s claim that we have a Police record is a crime, because we do not. The only record would be of tourists asking the Police for help after being threatened by the managers, so our rights could be protected. I’d like Villa Fotaki to say what proof or record they have to contradict me. In reply to Villa Fotaki: Please don’t mislead readers. You were paid as soon as you provided the required legal paperwork with the Police’s help. Claims that guests “do not pay and have record” are illegal. That is a poor response to a review showing true photos of dirt and dangerous electrical cables at Villa Fotaki. We were unwanted not because we didn’t pay, but because we asked for cleaning and paperwork. Are you saying you weren’t paid? I’m afraid the only Police record you’ll find about us is that on Kos island we had to call because Villa Fotaki’s management was forcing us to pay while saying the invoice and receipt would come later, even the next day. Several male colleagues waited in a car and wouldn’t let us out of the gated garden. I strongly recommend avoiding Villa Fotaki. I’d never stay there again because of the aggressive management, who continue to lie online, and the very dirty state of the property. I never post bad reviews, but this holiday was truly ruined. I hope the owners read this and check the Police records instead of believing the management’s lies.
