We’d been feeling low after catching a cold, but breakfast brought our appetites back. Fresh orange juice, thick Greek yogurt, excellent bread, homemade preserves, and superb omelettes, all enjoyed with a view of the sparkling sea and that unique Greek light. Niko was delightful, welcoming and dignified, and even near the end of the busy tourist season he took time to suggest a route for us before we returned to our villa. We hadn’t been happy with our villa near Stoupa, so on a recent trip we left it and drove across to Koroni, then up the coast to Agias Andreas. What an undiscovered joy this sweet town is. Fishing boats come into the small harbor, and you can hear fishermen singing as they unload their catch along the quay for local restaurants. We wandered by the water and looked over several pretty restaurants, but Akrogiali Hotel and Taverna had a special charm. There’s a beautiful pergola on the terrace with grapes growing over it, and the wooden tables have lovely chairs painted with maritime scenes. Niko is the owner, maitre-de, waiter, and a source of local knowledge all in one. Agias Andreas and Akrogiali will stay in our memories as perfect moments. We hope to return, and we’re grateful to Niko for his hospitality and excellent place.

Akrogiali’s setting by the sea was a lovely part of the meal, with wide views over the sparkling water and the soothing sound of the waves. The restaurant also impressed me with attentive, knowledgeable staff who offered recommendations based on what each guest liked. I visited while in Agios Andreas and found a great range of authentic Greek food, with the region’s flavors and traditions coming through. If you’re in Agios Andreas, Akrogiali is well worth a visit for the food, friendly service, and beachside location.

The waiter was incredibly friendly and somehow guessed what we’d like, with great suggestions. The food was delicious, with Greek flavors and traditions in every dish. The portions are generous, a real plus for men. We also enjoyed the tasty wine and local beers. Thanks to the whole team!

Thank you, Nikos. The fish soup is to die for, and the fish here is the freshest in the area. They only serve fish caught that day.

A relaxed family place that the locals clearly like, and the food was delicious. We shared olives, fried zucchini, and sourdough with oil, then ordered the “small” meat platter. It had a big lamb chop, pork kebab, chicken breast, vegetable dumpling, and a pork and lamb patty, all seasoned beautifully. With chips and salad it fed both of us past full. We had water, wine, and a Coke too, and the total came to just 42 euro. Highly recommended.
