Sunrise Village Beach

The holiday was awful from start to finish, and we couldn't wait to get home. We waited four hours for our rooms to be ready. They were very basic and not very clean, and after a shower the floor was left covered in water. The food was dreadful: pork was undercooked, chicken was raw, and the fish was like that every day. The restaurant wasn't nearly big enough for the guests, and the snack bar was a joke, serving pancake rolls and croquettes only from 3 to 5. It was 34 to 40 degrees, but there was no ice cream for the children. My granddaughter ended up crunching ice cubes. Wasps were everywhere, along with mosquitoes. We couldn't eat or drink without finding at least three wasps in it. The slides were open only from 11 to 1 and 3 to 5, and just two worked all week. One had a screw sticking out, which caught my granddaughter's leg and left a flap of skin that had to stay covered for the rest of the week. The staff weren't very friendly to any of us English guests and seemed to serve French guests first. The beach was supposed to be private and free, but two sunbeds cost €20. The beach is shingled, so you can't sit on it. At the end we also had to pay a holiday tax of €10 a night. There was no internet at all.

The sea and sky seem to meet at this wonderful resort. The rooms are luxurious, with lovely views of the beach and pool. The people were welcoming and looked after all our needs, making us feel like ambassadors. Families with children will love it, as will other travellers visiting the area. Everything was clean, the food was amazing, and the all-inclusive plan had lots of options.

We had mixed feelings about the stay. The location was very nice, and we rented a car for five days, which felt like the right amount of time for trips around the Peloponnese. The sea at the hotel's beach was just okay, nothing special, maybe 7 out of 10. There's a bar by the pool, but none on the beach. The staff seemed nice and were really helpful, so ask them anything. But we got very little information at the start of the holiday. Everything you need is on one of the papers near reception, but nobody tells you that. The rooms are a bit of a gamble depending on the balcony, rather than the inside, which was nice. There are about four types: one on the second floor has a beautiful sea view, while a similar one looks toward other rooms. The ground-floor balconies usually aren't the best. It was okay overall, but I'm giving it three stars because we received little to no information when we arrived.

The scenery is amazing! The only location drawback is that there aren't many shops or cafes nearby. The food and drinks were wonderful, with a good selection that changed daily. Our rooms and the restaurant were clean, and so were the pool and the area around it at this time of year. This is the time to go! I was told there were over 700 guests last summer and temperatures reached 45 degrees, so the facilities could get stretched.
