Baou House 1

The balcony view was the best part, but the room was also clean and cozy, with all the basics for cooking and making coffee. Thanks especially to Mr George, the owner. He was a really nice person and helped us with directions and ideas for places to see. We’ll come again!

The host was excellent, friendly, and very willing to help, and the house was very neat and spotlessly clean. It has a bathroom and a separate toilet with a tap beside the basin, though the tap only has cold water. The difficult part was the room with the balcony. It was damp and didn’t heat well. We woke up one morning to water running from across the ceiling, especially at the corners, and our duvet was wet. There is air conditioning, but we couldn’t find the remote and didn’t ask because of the late hour. The room has windows nearby and gets hot, so a dehumidifier might have helped. We stayed in early February 2026. There are lots of steps down to the house. You park on the main road, then have a long walk downhill and uphill. You can leave the car for a while, but not park there, because snow could make it impossible to move. With a child and lots of luggage, I’d choose somewhere easier to reach by car.

You can walk to the center of Metsovo from here, with a beautiful landscape along the way, and there’s parking nearby. The house is spacious and works for couples or families. It was very warm and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and all the household appliances we needed. Coffee, local tea, tsipouro, cookies for the children, umbrellas, games for young and old, and lovely smelling linen were all provided. There’s also a washing machine, hairdryer, shampoo, and hot water. Mr. George was hospitable, kind, willing to help, and full of useful suggestions and information. He helped with our luggage and recommended places we visited. The house itself is beautiful, with a magnificent view, and Meraklis has made the yard very tidy. Thanks for having us, we recommend it! February 2026 Excellent 5*****

The house was always warm when we visited in December, and nothing was missing. The decoration is lovely inside and out in the yard, and it’s just a five-minute walk from the center. Mr. George gave us all the information we needed and suggested places we went to. He’s a very sweet, passionate, willing, and attentive host, and the house has a magnificent view along with his own constructions. I recommend Baou House without hesitation!
