I booked an appointment for a wine tasting. Another couple arrived without one and got treated as if they'd done something wrong, even though there were only three of us on the tour once they joined. The tour itself was all right, but the guide seemed bored. The tasting was a mess. She hurried us through it, making us pour out each sample so she could serve the next one right away. I've never felt so rushed at a tasting. In Greece, you can usually linger at a restaurant or bar as long as you like, but this was the complete opposite. It felt like she just wanted us gone as soon as possible. Very unlike Greece. I had a completely different experience at the other winery in Metsovo, and I won't buy this winery's wine.

We arrived at 12:30 for the winery tour and saw a door sign saying the next one would be at 14:00. When we came back then, the shop associate said it was a private tour. The sign hadn't mentioned that, and if we'd known, we would have gone straight to our next destination instead of waiting. It would help to make the paper signs on the door clearer, or to post closures and private events on social media. We managed to buy a couple of bottles before the private group took over. The wine was great, no complaints there. Cheers from USA!

Set in a peaceful spot above the winery, the hotel has a lovely setting with historic references. It's close to central Metsovo, and the breakfast buffet had a fantastic range. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was baby friendly too. Highly recommend.

We first tried Averoff wines at local restaurants, which is what brought us to the winery. Visiting gave us a better understanding of Metsovo's economic development and that of the wider region. It's a beautiful place, and the tour was well organized. Admission and the tour are free; you only pay for a tasting if you choose to sample the wines.

The peaceful setting made for an easy walk into the village center, and we were greeted so warmly at the hotel. Our room was spacious, with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was exceptional, full of quality local products and homemade pies and cakes. And the bacon was the best I’ve ever had in Greece!
