We loved being totally unplugged here, with no Wi-Fi or cable TV. The beach is right across the street, and shops, restaurants and lovely little beaches are only a short way off. It’s a great place to escape everything. Nikolas was great and did all he could to make us comfortable.

The views over and behind the mountains are lovely at both sunrise and sunset. It’s also a handy base for exploring central Greece and the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonssos, with the monument to the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae just down the highway and Kamena Vourla in the other direction. I used to come here every year as a child, and the owners made us feel so welcome that we felt like family. It’s a great place to get away from it all.

The big garden and pet-friendly policy were the only good points. We booked two rooms for three adults because there were no other options, but each room had three beds and worn-out furniture. The old TV was disconnected, there was no internet or Wi-Fi, and the air conditioning wasn’t powered. I managed to find the right fuses to turn it on, thankfully. There was no service at all. It felt like beach hostels in Eastern Europe in the 1980s. The advertising for villa Zoi is totally “not right” and misleading. The price should be no more than a quarter to a third of what was advertised.

A peaceful, quiet place surrounded by nature, with a big garden full of old trees. The host was very kind and helpful, and the rooms and apartments are spacious. I’d definitely recommend it.
