Evenings are full of crickets, and in the mornings there are songbirds and ducks. No loud bikes or drunken chanting, just quiet. I love this hotel and Skyros, and have stayed here many times. I recommend it without reservation. Everything makes it easy to relax: the staff are lovely, the grass is neatly mowed, the rooms are well cared for, the pool is nice, and parking is easy. There are plenty of good places to eat nearby, including Asterias, Klimataria, and Katsarelias, though do try them all. There's a mini market up the road and a lovely beach five minutes away. For two long evening walks, bring mosquito repellent. One route goes to the windmill, and the other follows the steep footpath into town opposite Papoulakos' supermarket by the traffic light. I don't think I've ever felt so peaceful in my long life.

We stayed at the hotel on August 15th. At €120 a night without breakfast, it felt quite expensive. The pool area was large and well maintained, but the hotel itself was old, even though parts had been renovated. The rooms were very small, as was the bathroom. The wardrobe was just a piece of plywood, nearly a meter long, with room for very few clothes.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the gardens are beautiful. It's a nice, quiet hotel near the sea, with grocery shops and several tavernas right nearby. The pool is great too.

Peace and relaxation are what you'll find here, if that's what you're after. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, and the garden is beautifully kept. The hotel is typically Greek-run and has one of the island's largest pools. Tavernas, a mini market, and the beach are all a 5-7 minute walk away. I agree with Gerhard H.'s description. If you're going to Skyros, stay at Hotel Angela.
