At night it gets properly dark, with what feels like a trillion stars overhead. We also saw an incredible number of fireflies in the garden and nearby in early May, which felt magical. The sandy beach has shallow water that feels about body temperature in the evening. We didn't get a single mosquito bite, even though I usually get the worst ones. Maybe Avon So Soft Skin helped, as several people suggested. Before arriving, I was unsure after reading complaints about a stray dog and mosquitoes. I contacted the host, who said the dog wasn't a problem anymore and that mosquitoes affect green Corfu generally in some months. There didn't seem to be anyone in the neighboring houses during our stay, so it felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. There's no public access, so you could call it 'private'; I think only these four houses in a row can get to it.
