Akra Morea Hotel & Residences

We’re nearly at the end of our two weeks at Akra Morea, and neither of us can think of anything bad to say. From the moment we arrived, everyone looked after us so well. It’s been a pleasure staying here. Every member of staff is a credit to Akra Morea. Thank you so much for having us ❤️

The staff were very helpful, the pool area is lovely, and our slightly unconventional room was fine. The price is right too. But breakfast was embarrassing. Every cafe in town has real coffee, fresh juice, fresh baked goods, Greek yogurt, and decent muesli, so these things are clearly available nearby. The owners seem to have such contempt for their customers that they couldn’t manage any of that. Have breakfast at a nearby cafe. Owners, wake up and smell the coffee!

We showed up unexpectedly and the staff were unbelievably friendly and kind. We only asked for a basic room for one night, but they gave us an upgrade at the same price, with a sea view and the Monemvasia rock. The room was clean and really spacious, with a great balcony and a very cute bath. Five stars for the staff too!

The staff deserve five stars. They were always ready to help, and the pool area with seawater is really nice. But after staying here, I understand the bad reviews. The apartments are generally old, and the renovation seems to have serious issues. The bathroom was the main problem: it’s tiny, with no glass between the shower and toilet, so when you shower everything gets wet and nobody can use the toilet. Our room also hadn’t been cleaned properly. There were lots of stains on the floor, fridge, and curtains, plus dust everywhere. For what we paid, I expected at least a clean room and a shower that didn’t flood the rest of the bathroom. Before booking, I was very concerned because half the reviews were great and the rest were incredibly bad.
