House in the Castle

We chose to get married there because the balcony views of the ocean and the changing light were so stunning. The apartment hotel is in a beautiful location, and everything was perfect. Our hosts couldn't do enough for us, even arranging an exquisite local private chef for dinner and canapés. We can't wait to return. Thank you Ersi, Nikos, Chrysoula, Thodoris, and everyone!

We stayed in “Butterfly,” a lovely maisonette with an amazing balcony. The owner met us at the entrance and helped with our luggage, and we were welcomed with complimentary wine in the fridge and fruit. The room was well organized and had everything we needed, including a comfortable bed with good pillows. The bedroom fireplace gave it a romantic feel. We brought our small kitten and the owner kindly let us stay together. The location worked really well, with fewer stairs to climb and a little distance from the busy main street. Honestly, everything was perfect from the first minute, and the place deserves all those five star reviews. Highly recommended!

We were there in February, and the fireplace was a nice touch. The place was clean, the bedding smelled wonderful, and slippers were provided. Our upstairs bedroom had lots of room, while the kitchen was small but functional, like a galley on a boat. We stayed in the Butterfly room, whose balcony had a great sunrise view over the ocean, perfect for sipping coffee as the sun came up. One of the two sisters who run the hotel met us after our Ktel bus ride from Athens, drove us to the castle, then took us to the room. Walking to coffee shops and restaurants was easy, and the hotel sits right amid Monemvasia's amazing history.

The apartment we stayed in was very comfortable, and its spot at the far end of the island made it quieter. Chrissoula and her sister Elsi are wonderful hostesses. I first stumbled on this gem while exploring the island on my first trip there a few years ago, and I'm grateful I did. I don't plan to stay anywhere else.
