The owner’s kindness and attentiveness made this stay especially welcoming. Breakfast was a daily highlight, with fresh, delicious homemade food served thoughtfully. Moutsouna itself is peaceful and surrounded by lovely scenery, so it’s an easy place to slow down and switch off. A great quiet escape in an authentic part of Naxos.

The village is peaceful, but you can still find groceries and good food at the restaurants. There are two quiet, clean beaches nearby, plus little places to explore, from a cave and hills to rocks, a dry riverbed, and exotic fruit growing by the road. Our apartment was spotless and welcoming, with a wonderful sea view. We caught the sunrise once from the room and once from the roomy, cosy patio, sunny in the morning and shaded later in the day. The host was helpful without hovering, always around with advice, snacks, or even a farewell glass of wine. The road up to the village winds quite a bit, though it might suit adrenaline fans. Still, the trip is worth it.

The peaceful setting on Naxos was my favorite part, and I could happily have stayed longer to enjoy it. Sofia, who has family ties to the hotel and village, was gracious, friendly, and spoke English. The cafe and bar offered a breakfast buffet and drinks in the evening. My room felt private, with a spacious tucked-away patio overlooking the sea. Inside, it was simple and elegant, with plenty of room and a modern bathroom.

Sofia was so lovely, and the rest of the staff were great too. It’s a quiet spot that works well for couples and families. The breakfast buffet was very good, with the main dish cooked fresh to order.
