Aelia Mykonos

The location in Ornos worked so well for us. It was quieter than the main town but still lively, with plenty of good places to eat and several supermarkets with lots of variety. A bus to the main town, Little Venice, came every half hour and cost €2 each. Apaggio was beautiful, and I had a lovely carbonara at Farina Cucina Italiana. For sandwiches, we loved Degu. There were nice breakfast and lunch spots too. We stayed in Aelia in a room with a fridge, which was handy for groceries. We liked being able to go out to busier areas and return to somewhere quiet, not rowdy. Aelia was small, peaceful and relaxed, just the atmosphere we wanted. Even by the pool there were always sunbeds available. The pool isn't big, but it suits the hotel, and the pool and sunbed area was lovely with a view. The sunbeds were really comfortable. Our room was beautiful and clean, and we loved sitting on the balcony to watch the sunset. The bathroom was quirky and different. There was only one sunbed on our balcony instead of two, but we didn't mind since having one there was a bonus. There was also a sofa seat outside and another chair, so plenty of places to sit. Breakfast was buffet style, with a nice range of hot and cold options, pastries and cakes. Most mornings the breakfast staff brought some lovely cakes over for us to try. It was a small, chilled-out place to sit, much like the rest of the hotel. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. After a week here with my boyfriend, wow, what a beautiful place. We had a great time, and I'd really recommend Aelia if you're after a relaxed stay.
