The location is very central, but it took us around 10-15 minutes each day to find our way in or out. It’s tucked away, locals didn’t know it, and we weren’t sent directions. GPS is a must, though the streets are so narrow that Google still struggles to pinpoint it. Fabrika bus station is nearby if you can navigate the maze, while the Remezzo taxi stand is much easier for pickups and drop-offs. It was quiet both inside and outside, and it felt as if nobody else was in the building. The room was unexpectedly cleaned daily, which was nice. There’s only hand soap, a kettle but no mugs, an empty mini fridge in the cupboard that leaves little room for luggage, a tiny TV, and a safe. Wifi was spotty but manageable with patience. The bunk beds were as comfortable as bunk beds get. The bathroom is small, making some things awkward, but hot water and pressure worked fine. Larger guests might struggle with the facilities. Most or all rooms seem to be up a very steep set of stairs on the second floor, so it may not suit everyone. The host was easy to reach by phone, but wasn’t there for check-in or check-out, and there’s no reception or tourist maps and similar information. On arrival day, we were told by email at the last minute that the bunk room still had an extra person surcharge. The policy mentions an ‘extra bed’ cost, but bookings.com didn’t let us select 2 people for that room, and no extra bed was brought in. Read the fine print carefully. It’s fine for a night or two if you just need somewhere to sleep, but make sure you have good internet and a good sense of direction. I’m good with maps and still felt lost as soon as I walked out the front door.
