Terra Maria

My summer stay at Terra Maria fell apart just a week before the trip. I’d made and paid for a confirmed Booking.com reservation more than two months ahead, but the hotel said it hadn’t received the payment from the booking provider and therefore didn’t consider the reservation confirmed. I had already paid in full. After many emails and calls involving both the hotel and Booking.com, the booking was canceled, and I still haven’t received a refund. Soon afterward, the hotel called and suggested I pay them directly to “secure the room” again. It felt like an obvious attempt to charge me twice. The whole thing was stressful and unacceptable, and it raises serious concerns about how they handle bookings and payments. I’d urge others to be very cautious about staying here.

I got confirmation after booking and paying for my vacation through Booking.com. Then, only 48 hours before departure, Terra Maria started repeatedly claiming it had never received the payment from Booking.com. That turned out not to be true. I had to contact Booking.com support to ask for the cancellation. Only afterward did the property contact me directly with an alternative offer, going around Booking.com. It was unprofessional and left me stressed and uncertain right before the trip. I strongly advise against booking here.

Getting to Terra Maria on foot was dreadful, especially with big bags, but the location and accommodation were perfect. It’s right in the heart of Little Venice, away from the noise, with everything easy to reach on foot. We could go back for a nap and head out again later. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Little Venice.

The rooms are simple but fine, clean, and have comfortable beds. The decoration is fancy, and the hotel offers complimentary coffee and tea at reception. It’s right in central Mykonos, with an amazing restaurant on the same street, but that also means plenty of noise. Still, it’s a nice place for a short stay.
