El mar Naxos

El Mar has a special place in our hearts now because we got engaged on this trip. The island was a great mix of relaxed and lively, with good food and very reasonable restaurant prices. The hotel itself is modern, clean, beautiful, and peaceful, with a gorgeous pool. We went in early September, which probably helped keep things quiet. At night, you can see the town lit up from the pool area. It’s around a 10 to 15-minute walk from the busy center, so you’re close to what you need but away from the bustle. Breakfast had lots of choice and was delicious, and the whole place was spotless. Everyone on the team was lovely, especially Anastasia at reception. She was so kind and helpful, gave us great restaurant and activity recommendations, and even booked a car for us. She really made everything feel seamless. Thanks to the whole team, especially Anastasia, for an unforgettable stay. I’d recommend both El Mar and Naxos to anyone.

The people made El Mar especially memorable. The family who own and run it, along with the staff, are generous and genuinely kind. From reception to housekeeping, we were treated with care and efficient, friendly service every day. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. The hotel is peaceful on a hill, about 17 minutes from the seaport commercial area. Our suite had spectacular views of the sea, mountains, historic Old Town, and the Potara. It was ultra-modern and beautifully designed, with great comfort and convenience. As a wellness and spa hotel, El Mar offers various treatments, including a great massage therapist. The chef serves a range of delicious food for different tastes, including Greek dishes made perfectly. We were very happy here, and I’m 100% sure you will be too. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Naxos.

We had a wonderful stay at this modern, beautiful, family-owned boutique hotel. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Our new, clean, spacious room had a lovely view of Naxos town and the Aegean Sea, plus a kitchen we didn’t really use. The pool area was peaceful. The bathroom was long and narrow, and could have been wider, with more space between the shower and toilet. The hilltop location gave us pretty sunset views over the sea, although the surrounding area wasn’t very picturesque. I wish recent reviews had been clearer about the walk: you need to take a gravel road, then follow another road along the edge of town through a fairly desolate area for a good 7-10 minutes before you reach the part of town where you see other pedestrians. We’re active and fit, so the distance wasn’t an issue, but we hadn’t expected that route. Aside from that, a really lovely stay.

We had a lovely two-night stay at El Mar in September and left with great memories. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the sea view from the pool area was breathtaking. Staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxing, enjoyable visit.
