There’s a small, pleasant yard with a grilling area, and that was the reason we chose and paid for this villa. But the hosts wouldn’t let us use it, even though it was included in our contract with the agency. They shouted that their yard wasn’t a taverna and treated us disrespectfully. They were intrusive about the ACs and lights, checking whether we left them on and loudly telling us we were doing things wrong. We struggled to understand each other because they spoke no English or other language besides Greek. They seemed preoccupied with how much electricity guests would use. No chemistry 😊 The beach is nice, though you still need a car if you’re bringing your own equipment. The nearby town has very few restaurant and supermarket options. A disaster, with unpleasant, unwelcoming hosts. Never again Halikidiki in July.

The prices were reasonable, and there’s a supermarket close by. We found nice restaurants along the shore and in the town center, plus a good bar on the beach. For families, it’s an amazing place, with the beach just down the stairs. I’d come back.

We were shocked by how much they lied. The pension is said to be right by the beach, but it’s actually 1 km away. Half the things in the room are made of wood. We were cooking on the stove when a woman came over and told us to stop, saying the people next to the stove would leave a bad review. But the agency information said cooking on the stove was allowed. All we wanted was to have fun, and this place was really bad.

The rooms are clean, but use of the air conditioner is strictly monitored. Red ribbons are hung on the outdoor units to show when they’re running.
