Being charged for an apartment was hard to accept when all the beds were squeezed into one tiny room, with barely any space to get between them (see photo below). The place felt like a makeshift garage rather than part of a house, and rubbish was sitting right outside when we arrived. The kitchen setup was cramped and improvised, with only a skylight for the space, and someone a little bigger would struggle to get through it. There was also a puddle from a leaking drain beside the pots, which were stored next to the trash bin, while the dishes felt sticky. The bathroom window opens straight into the kitchen, which seemed completely unhygienic. Very disappointing. It’s a shame to rent a place like this at all, especially while calling it an “apartment.”

The location is great, just two minutes from the beach and five from the town center. It’s new, clean and quiet, and the beds are comfortable. But there are still some things to sort out. The shower drain needs more regular cleaning, since even a short shower floods the whole bathroom. Hot water takes ages to heat and runs out quickly, and there’s no top sheet provided for sleeping, which people want even in a one-apartment place. The free Wi-Fi was very hard to connect to and the signal in the room was so weak I couldn’t use the smart TV. I ended up using my own data to watch TV on my tablet half the time. For such a modern new place, those problems with the facilities were a letdown.

The owner was helpful, kind and flexible. The apartments were very clean, with brand-new equipment, and the beds had really comfortable mattresses.
