Avra Beach Hotel

It's a very clean hotel right on the beach, at the quieter end of Nidri. The lively part of town is only a five-minute stroll away. The beach is pebbly, so water shoes are a good idea. Sunbeds cost €10 per set, even for hotel guests.

We swam in the sea most days with lovely views of the mountains and wooded islands. Early May was peaceful, with empty sun loungers. This is a friendly little hotel right on the beach, with a short walk along the shore to lots of restaurants.

What stood out most was how helpful the staff were with my child's disability and specific needs. Breakfast was much the same each day, but there was a choice of fresh cold and cooked food, including fruit and vegetables, plus Greek honey, yoghurt and olive oil. The room was clean and well maintained. Avra Hotel is right on a picturesque beach with lovely views and easy access to the sea, close to the heart of Nidri. Local shops and markets are a short walk away, as are lovely tavernas and a beautiful harbor. The relaxing atmosphere made for a lovely getaway, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy Nidri with a hospitable stay in a prime location.

We had no problems during our seven-night stay, and we'd definitely recommend the hotel and come back. It's very clean and well located, near the main area of Nydri and close to plenty of good tavernas. The staff were friendly and ready to help make our stay as good as possible. It has only two stars, but felt more like a three-star hotel. There's a beachfront restaurant, plus the hotel's own sunbeds and umbrellas, which you can rent for €6 a day.
